UGI Drives BSC Summer Golf Tour with K16 Million Sponsorship

The second edition of Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) Summer Tour Golf Championship has teed off and will run up to Sunday.
Pinnacle Financial Services chief executive officer (CEO) Douglas Kamwendo and United General Insurance (UGI) CEO Grant Mwenechanya, whose companies co-sponsor the tournament with a total of K16 million, have conducted symbolic tee-off.
“We are excited that the tournament has finally teed off. We are looking forward to meeting golfer, the business community and everybody else involved. It’s an exciting three days and we hope people will have fun as they make lasting connections,” says Kamwendo.
On his part, Mwenechanya says: “This event is all about entertaining our customers. We want them to relax and enjoy the game of golf. This is the perfect time to relax and talk business.”
BSC golf vice-captain Nchane Nkhwazi says over 130 golfers have registered for the three-day contest, competed in Pro-Am, Championship, A, B, Seniors and Ladies’ divisions.
